In The Name Of Allah, The Beneficent, The Merciful. اِذَا السَّمَآءُ انْفَطَرَتۡۙ ﴿۱﴾ When the heaven is cleft asunder, ﴾1﴿ وَاِذَا الۡكَوَاكِبُ انْتَثَرَتۡۙ ﴿۲﴾ When the planets are dispersed, ﴾2﴿ وَاِذَا الۡبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتۡۙ ﴿۳﴾ When the seas are poured forth, ﴾3﴿ وَاِذَا الۡقُبُوۡرُ بُعۡثِرَتۡۙ ﴿۴﴾ And the sepulchres are overturned, ﴾4﴿ عَلِمَتۡ نَفۡسٌ مَّا قَدَّمَتۡ وَاَخَّرَتۡؕ ﴿۵﴾ A soul will know what it hath sent before it and what left behind. ﴾5﴿ يٰۤاَيُّهَا الۡاِنۡسَانُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ الۡكَرِيۡمِۙ ﴿۶﴾ O man! What hath made thee careless concerning thy Lord, the Bountiful, ﴾6﴿ الَّذِىۡ خَلَقَكَ فَسَوّٰٮكَ فَعَدَلَـكَۙ ﴿۷﴾ Who created thee, then fashioned, then proportioned thee? ﴾7﴿ فِىۡۤ اَىِّ صُوۡرَةٍ مَّا شَآءَ رَكَّبَكَؕ ﴿۸﴾ Into whatsoever form He will, He casteth thee. ﴾8﴿ كَلَّا بَلۡ تُكَذِّبُوۡنَ بِالدِّيۡنِۙ ﴿۹﴾ Nay, but ye deny the Judgment. ﴾9﴿ وَاِنَّ عَلَيۡكُمۡ لَحٰـفِظِيۡنَۙ ﴿۱۰﴾ Lo! there are above you guardians, ﴾10﴿ كِرَامًا كَاتِبِيۡنَۙ ﴿۱۱﴾ Generous and recording, ﴾11﴿ يَعۡلَمُوۡنَ مَا تَفۡعَلُوۡنَ ﴿۱۲﴾ Who know all that ye do. ﴾12﴿ اِنَّ الۡاَبۡرَارَ لَفِىۡ نَعِيۡمٍۙ ﴿۱۳﴾ Lo! the righteous verily will be in delight. ﴾13﴿ وَّاِنَّ الۡفُجَّارَ لَفِىۡ جَحِيۡمٍۙ ﴿۱۴﴾ And lo! the wicked verily will be in hell; ﴾14﴿ يَّصۡلَوۡنَهَا يَوۡمَ الدِّيۡنِ ﴿۱۵﴾ They will burn therein on the Day of Judgment, ﴾15﴿ وَمَا هُمۡ عَنۡهَا بِغَآٮِٕبِيۡنَؕ ﴿۱۶﴾ And will not be absent thence. ﴾16﴿ وَمَاۤ اَدۡرٰٮكَ مَا يَوۡمُ الدِّيۡنِۙ ﴿۱۷﴾ Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Day of Judgment is! ﴾17﴿ ثُمَّ مَاۤ اَدۡرٰٮكَ مَا يَوۡمُ الدِّيۡنِؕ ﴿۱۸﴾ Again, what will convey unto thee what the Day of Judgment is! ﴾18﴿ يَوۡمَ لَا تَمۡلِكُ نَفۡسٌ لِّنَفۡسٍ شَيۡـًٔـاؕ وَّالۡاَمۡرُ يَوۡمَٮِٕذٍ لِّلَّهِ ﴿۱۹﴾ A day on which no soul hath power at all for any other soul. بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ 820 Bismillah hir rahman nir raheem In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنفَطَرَتۡ 821 Izas samaaa’un fatarat Sahih InternationalWhen the sky breaks apart وَإِذَا ٱلۡكَوَاكِبُ ٱنتَثَرَتۡ 822 Wa izal kawaakibun tasarat Sahih InternationalAnd when the stars fall, scattering, وَإِذَا ٱلۡبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتۡ 823 Wa izal bihaaru fujjirat Sahih InternationalAnd when the seas are erupted وَإِذَا ٱلۡقُبُورُ بُعۡثِرَتۡ 824 Wa izal qubooru bu’sirat Sahih InternationalAnd when the [contents of] graves are scattered, عَلِمَتۡ نَفۡسٞ مَّا قَدَّمَتۡ وَأَخَّرَتۡ 825 Alimat nafsum maa qaddamat wa akhkharat Sahih InternationalA soul will [then] know what it has put forth and kept back. يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ ٱلۡكَرِيمِ 826 Yaaa ayyuhal insaaanu maa gharraka bi Rabbikal kareem Sahih InternationalO mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous, ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَكَ فَسَوَّىٰكَ فَعَدَلَكَ 827 Allazee khalaqaka fasaw waaka fa’adalak Sahih InternationalWho created you, proportioned you, and balanced you? فِيٓ أَيِّ صُورَةٖ مَّا شَآءَ رَكَّبَكَ 828 Feee ayye sooratim maa shaaa’a rakkabak Sahih InternationalIn whatever form He willed has He assembled you. كَلَّا بَلۡ تُكَذِّبُونَ بِٱلدِّينِ 829 Kalla bal tukazziboona bid deen Sahih InternationalNo! But you deny the Recompense. وَإِنَّ عَلَيۡكُمۡ لَحَٰفِظِينَ Wa inna alaikum lahaa fizeen Sahih InternationalAnd indeed, [appointed] over you are keepers, كِرَامٗا كَٰتِبِينَ Kiraaman kaatibeen Sahih InternationalNoble and recording; يَعۡلَمُونَ مَا تَفۡعَلُونَ Ya’lamoona ma taf’aloon Sahih InternationalThey know whatever you do. إِنَّ ٱلۡأَبۡرَارَ لَفِي نَعِيمٖ Innal abraara lafee na’eem Sahih InternationalIndeed, the righteous will be in pleasure, وَإِنَّ ٱلۡفُجَّارَ لَفِي جَحِيمٖ Wa innal fujjaara lafee jaheem Sahih InternationalAnd indeed, the wicked will be in Hellfire. يَصۡلَوۡنَهَا يَوۡمَ ٱلدِّينِ Yaslawnahaa Yawmad Deen Sahih InternationalThey will [enter to] burn therein on the Day of Recompense, وَمَا هُمۡ عَنۡهَا بِغَآئِبِينَ Wa maa hum anhaa bighaaa ibeen Sahih InternationalAnd never therefrom will they be absent. وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا يَوۡمُ ٱلدِّينِ Wa maaa adraaka maa Yawmud Deen Sahih InternationalAnd what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense? ثُمَّ مَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا يَوۡمُ ٱلدِّينِ Summa maaa adraaka maa Yawmud Deen Sahih InternationalThen, what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense? يَوۡمَ لَا تَمۡلِكُ نَفۡسٞ لِّنَفۡسٖ شَيۡـٔٗاۖ وَٱلۡأَمۡرُ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلَّهِ Yawma laa tamliku nafsul linafsin shai’anw walamru yawma’izil lillaah Sahih InternationalIt is the Day when a soul will not possess for another soul [power to do] a thing; and the command, that Day, is [entirely] with Allah.

Episodes 345 Arabic الإنفِطار Translation The Cleaving Verses 19 About Surah Al-Infitar 082 Al-Infitar This is a Makki Surah, and derives its name from the reference to the breaking up of the skies, at the beginning of the surah. Describing the various events on the Day of Resurrection, such as the breaking up of the skies, falling of the stars, eruption of the oceans, among others, it is said that on that day every soul will know what it is being called to account for. The records are being kept by angels, who are noble scribes and know what each person does. No soul will be able to assist another on the Day of Reckoning, and authority will belong to Allaah SWT alone.
